SIX PEOPLE SHOT TO DEATH IN DELVAN, WISCONSIN..TWO YEAR OLD SURVIVED
Responding to neighbor's reports of gunfire police stormed a rental house in this town of about 8,000 in southern Wisconsin.  They found 3 month on twin boys, their parents and a sister and her huband all shot to death.  Police would give no details but said there was no further danger indicating that the shooting may have been the result of a murder-suicide.  The twin boys father, 22-year-old Ambrocio Analco no longer lived with the mother and had returned to the house to drop the twin boys off.  A two year old child of the Analco's was found in the car, shot in the chest, but was still alive.

FIRST SPACE SHUTTLE OF THE YEAR ARRIVES AT SPACE STATION WITH 24 INCH HOLE
The Atlantis arrived at the International Space station yesterday and the
crews exchanged greetings and hugs.  Seven astronauts, all men were aboard "the most complex machine ever built" as it docked, bringing with it a third solar array which will be installed in a space walk today.  Atlantis is also delivering astronaut Clayton Anderson who will replace Sunita Williams
who will return to earth after 6 months on the station.  Of concern is a 4 x 6 inch hold that was discovered after Friday's launch from the Kennedy space center.  Shortly after take over pictures were taken to determine whether a walk to repair to the gap will be necessary.

SUICIDE BOMBER BRINGS DOWN BRIDGE..SOME U.S. SOLDIERS TRAPPED
An apparant suicide vehicle bomb exploded in a thunderous explosion and destroyed a section of a highway bridge being guarded by several U.S. soldiers.  The bridge was located on Iraq's main north-south artery. A passing U.S. Armor Group convoy immediately came to the rescue of the
soldiers pulling the trapped men from the fallen concrete rubble.  There was no immediate U.S. Army confirmation on the number and severity of the casualties.

BUSH ENDS EUROPEAN TRIP WITH HUGE RESPONSE IN ALBANIA
Stop the presses...President Bush finally made it to a country where he got a hero's welcome.  Thousands in Albania turned out to cheer the first
American President to ever visit the country.  They named a street in his
honor and issued commemorative stamps.  93% of the people of Albania wants the country to join NATO and Prime Minister Sali Berisha said they would "pass any law and understake any reform to make Albania appropriate to recieve the invitation."  But, Bush said several changes were still needed in Albania including lowering the crime rate.  Albania which has over a hundred troops in both Afghanistan and Iraq, is warmed by Bush's support of an independent Kosovo next door.  The President spent last night in Bulgaria, his last stop on the long trip.

COASTER RIDERS STUCK UPSIDE DOWN FOR HALF HOUR
Twelve thrill seekers on an Arkansas roller coaster spent half an hour hanging upside down 150 feet above the ground after a power outage shut down the ride. It took about 30 minutes for the city Fire Department to rescue the riders using a ladder truck Saturday night, said Aundrea Crary, spokeswoman for the Springs & Crystal Falls amusement park. Spectators cheered when the riders were brought to the ground from the highest point of a loop on the X-Coaster, but one passenger threw up after reaching safety. The X-Coaster was one of several rides brought
to a halt by the outage that originated somewhere near the park. Mark Hunt, general manager of customer service for Entergy said they could not find a reason for the outage, but will continue to investigate until they find the cause.

MAN CUTS OFF LEG TO GET FROM UNDER FALLEN TREE
In a remarkable display of strong will and survival, a Placer County logger cut off his leg to free himself from under a fallen tree on a remote hillside east of Colfax, California. Al Hill, 66, an experienced logger armed with a cell phone but no reception, resorted to amputating his left leg below the knee with a pocketknife some 11 hours after the tree fell on him.   A passerby eventually heard Hill's cries for help and he raced the man to an emergency clearing where he was helicoptered to the closest hospital.   Hill is from the small town of Iowa Hill, which sports only 150 residents.  The town's only buildings are the Iowa Hill School, a solar-powered one-room schoolhouse with seven students, and the Iowa Hill Store, the town's all-in-one post office, grocery store, restaurant and bar.

WITH OUT WITHOUT THE ICEBERG THE TITANIC WAS SUNK
Experts now believe that with or without hitting an iceberg, the Titanic was
doomed to have sunk at some point in it's life. Research suggests that, even if the ocean liner had not struck an iceberg during its maiden voyage, structural weaknesses made it vulnerable to any stormy sea.  For the longest time, it was believed that after hitting the iceberg, water flooded into to the ship with the weight of the water in the bow, forcing the ship's stern to rise until it reached 45 degrees and then snapping in half and sinking. Now findings of new research, a collaboration between the History Channel and Lone Wolf Documentary Group, suggest that the Titanic broke in half when its stern had reached an angle of just 10 degrees - a scenario that could have occurred in heavy seas during any severe storm. Rushmore DeNooyer, who led the project, said: "Ships experience shallow angles like this in storms, when they are tilted up by large waves. So perhaps Titanic wasn't designed strongly enough. If the force that broke it was no greater than the force it would have faced in a hurricane, it
could have been broken in two at that point. The shallow angle at which the Titanic buckled is believed to have contributed towards the 1,500 death toll.  The researchers believe that many, assuming the vessel would stay afloat for hours, remained on board in the warmth. However, the ship sank just two hours and 40 minutes after the collision. Less than two hours later, the Carpathia arrived on the scene and pulled 705 people in lifeboats to safety.

COCA-COLA A HEALTHY DRINK?  PUT 'EM BACK ON CAMPUS
Coca-Cola has enlisted scientific researchers in a effort to convince the world that it's soda is actually a health drink that can aid in combating anemia.  In clinical trials, men and women are being fed pizza and, after washing it down with Coke, having their blood levels of iron measured. The theory is that, once in the stomach, Coca-Cola helps release iron from food so that more of the mineral gets absorbed by the body. The study, led by doctors at the University of East Anglia, will compare the absorption of iron from a pizza meal consumed with Coca-Cola, Diet Coke or mineral water. The drink's manufacturer suggests that it could offer a cheap and efficient way to tackle the growing problems of iron deficiency, particularly in young women.

TV LAST NIGHT

(We watched TV for you last night)

We watched:
The Sopranos series finale
The Tony Awards

SOPRANOS - Series Finale

Chicken shits!  By using the snap to black screen, you could take the ending either way....

Tony asks the FBI guys for some help in locating Phil Leotardo.

The entire family goes to Bobby's funeral.  AJ wonders why since they are in hiding, why everyone will be safe at a funeral.  Carm tells him "There's always a high FBI presence at funerals."

Tony's take is getting slimmer and slimmer as more of his customers start giving their money to the New York families.

Phil calls his family's gunmen and is upset because they haven't gotten to Tony yet, saying he should have been the first one hit.  They tell Phil they can't find him.   In the meantime, Tony is traveling around town in a van that is a beverage delivery company.

AJ continues to play the depression card, but we see him snap out of it when he has sex with is 15 year old girlfriend.  The two have taken AJ's vehicle into the woods for privacy.   The cataletic converter evidently gets hot and you're supposed to avoid dry leaves.  The leaves start on fire which in turn start the car on fire.  AJ and his new girlfriend escape before the vehicle totally blows up.  AJ is happy to have his car now, so he can ride the bus...to be more environmentally friendly, however, by the end of the show, he's picking up his girlfriend from school in a hot little sports car.

AJ toys with the idea of joining the army, learning Arabic and becoming an
officer.  Tony and Carm provides the company that made "Cleaver" with a script and financing for a film so AJ can learn to make movies.  He starts out as a gopher.

Tony gets a call from his FBI insiders who tell him that Phil has been making calls from a pay phone in Oyster Bay in Long Island.  Tony has his guys researching where the pay phones are.

Janice visits Uncle Junior to tell him about Bobby.  He really doesn't recognize her.  Tony visits Uncle Junior and when Tony tells him that he and his father uses to rule New York, he says, "that's nice."

Tony decides to reach out to "the little guys" in a neutral place where everyone is safe.  They all believe that Phil is out of control.

Tony and Carm, Meadow and her boyfriend, and Patsy and his wife meet.  They tell the parents that when Meadow graduates from law school, she'll be joining his firm with a beginning salary of $170,000.

Tony is told by his lawyer that supena's are being service and there's a 90% chance he will get hit with a gun charge.

Paulie initially turns down, but ends up accepting Tony's offer to become a skipper.

We see Phil looking for a phone booth.  He gets out of the car, tells is wife he's going to make a call and his twin grandbabies are in the back seat.  He's still talking to her through the window when we see a gun pointed at his head.  A shot through the brain and one in the chest.   His wife, obviously freaked out, gets out of the car without putting it in park.  While she's freaking out the car begins to roll and it rolls right over Phil's head.  We hear it pop and onlookers puke.

Tony visits Silvio in the hospital.  He's hooked up to life support.

Tony meets Carm, AJ and Meadow for dinner.  He's the first to arrive at the quaint diner and he plays Journey: Don't Stop Believing on the jukebox.  Carmella arrives...we notice suspicious characters lurking in the diner.  AJ  arrives, a couple more characters arrive...Meadow is outside having trouble parallel parking. More suspicious characters...one even walking past to go to reach the restroom. Meadow sits down, the family is all there.  AJ talks about  remembering the good times. Two men appear to be walking toward them and then the freakin' black screen!

AUTO ACRONYMS

SRS refers to what part of the car?

 suspension
 steering wheel
 engine
 airbag*

SRS stands for Supplemental Restraint System airbag. SRS airbags first came out in 1993 by Safety Restraint Systems Inc. By 1999 the Federal Government required all cars, light trucks and vans to have driver and passenger airbags. A maximized amount of protection is achieved when seat belts are used in conjunction with the airbags.

What does the "A" in ABS stand for?

 alternating
 anti-lock*
 adaptive
 alert

Remember the good ol' days when you had to "pump" your brakes to stop on a slippery road? The ABS (anti-lock braking system) actually "pumps" the brakes for you at a much faster speed resulting in a faster stop and the ability to steer while you're stopping.

-

What type of receiver has a built in map in which your exact location can be pin pointed along with the path you have traveled?

 GSP
 GPS*
 DSP
 ECM

A Global Positioning System (GPS) is actually a receiver that locates four or more (of the 27 orbiting) satellites and calculates the distance from each of them to deduce a location. Not only can a GPS receiver place you on a built in map and trace the path you've traveled, but it can also tell you how far and how long you've traveled, current and average speed and estimated time of arrival at your destination.

-

Turn signal indicators, high beam indicator and a warning to check gauges can be viewed on the windshield if a car has what type system?

 HUD*
 LED
 HID
 RLS

The Heads-up Display system allows important information to be projected onto a (specially coated) windshield in front of the driver. This potentially increases driver safety and convenience since the driver does not have to look down to the instrument panel as often. Other information can be displayed through the HUD system, vehicle speed being the most popular added.

-

This is used in the taillight of a car instead of an ordinary incandescent bulb because of it's low power usage, durability and brightness.

 LED
 LDS
 HID
 LCD

Light Emitting Diodes are housed in a small plastic bulb which makes them more durable. The filament in an incandescent bulb must be warmed to produce light which is wasted energy. LEDs don't have a filament that will burn out so a higher percentage of electrical power goes directly to producing the light which makes it more efficient. LEDs are also used in digital clocks, remote controls and traffic lights.

-

ACC is a type of cruise control that can detect the speed and distance of a
vehicle you are following. What does the "A" in ACC stand for?

 Advanced
 Adaptive*
 Alternative
 Alert

In addition to conventional cruise control, ACC can automatically adjust speed to maintain the distance between vehicles in the same lane.  If the lead vehicle slows down or another object is detected a signal is sent to the braking system to decelerate. When the road clears, the system re-accelerates the vehicle to the set speed.

her again and she asked me to bring the vehicle in for a
look...it was really funny when she found out it was just
me...

..and along the same line...

We called a mechanic shop up in Arkansas to see if they could fix our

"Do ya'll have 'em in stock?"
-"No sir, we'll have to order them I think."
"You HAVE installed fallopian tubes before right?!"
-"Uhh, yes sir we sure have!  We know what we're doing if that's what

It's no big deal. (Okay, they might say it. But they don't mean it)

MIND BENDER

California may become the only U.S. state to require this.

Answer:

The sterilization of all pets

The bill would require pet owners to spay and neuter their dogs and cats, or face a $500 fine for each animal.

Maureen Hill-Hauch, executive director of the New York-based American Dog Owners Association, adding that enforcement of the bill, in theory, could wipe out California's dog population.

Breeders, as well as owners of guide dogs, could obtain exemptions.

The Democrat-led state Assembly narrowly approved the bill late on Wednesday. It now goes to the state Senate. Republicans consider the bill too intrusive. "It's micro-managing," said Republican Assemblyman Doug LaMalfa.

JOKE TO GO

I've discovered why I'm so tired..I've got too much blood in my coffee system...

Lewis Hamilton became the first-ever black man to win a Formula One race Sunday. It's even more amazing when you realize he still won despite being pulled over by the cops for no reason about 10-11 times during the course of the race. (Jake Novak)

Auto Repair Advice: Never go to a car repair shop if all the mechanics have brand-new shiny boat hitches on their brand new pick-up trucks! ...

Dr. Leroy, the head psychiatrist at the local mental hospital, is
examining patients to see if they're cured and ready to re-enter society.
"So, Mr. Clark," the doctor says to one of his patients, "I see by
your chart that you've been recommended for dismissal.  Do you have
any idea what you might do once you're released?"
The patient thinks for a moment, then replies, "Well, I went to school
for mechanical engineering.  That's still a good field, good money
there.  But on the other hand, I thought I might write a book about my
experience here in the hospital, what it's like to be a patient here.
People might be interested in reading a book like that.  In addition,
I thought I might go back to college and study art history, which I've
grown interested in lately."
Dr. Leroy nods and says, "Yes, those all sound like intriguing possibilities...you may be ready for the outside world!"
The patient replies, "And the best part is, in my spare time, I can go on being a teapot."
