If you're Rving all the way to Alaska you're going to go through Yukon....
One thing I didn't learn from senior marketing director, Linda Bierlmeier is why it's often called "The Yukon" instead of just "Yukon." If she doesn't know, I guess no one does. But, I learned a whole bunch of other things about Yukon (it's not a "province," it's a "territory") including the fascinating story about "The Great Alaska Highway." Did you know it was built mostly by American troops?...tens of thousands of them...built in just nine months during World War II. The Japanese were attacking the Aleutian Islands which were part of Alaska....a way to transport troops and equipment to Alaska was critical. Today, that highway carries tourists, in particular RV'ers and Linda explains what it's like and some great places to see along the way. Click below the watch the 15 minute video interview or go to RVDream Radio above to see a smaller version there....She's great...you're going to love this...
