HIT PARADE HALL OF FAME IDEA CONTINUES TO GAIN SUPPORT

When rock and roll hit the world in 1954-55 it was led by artists like Elvis Presley, Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis and .......Pat Boone.  If you look at the hit charts for that era you will see Pat's name up there along side the Fats Dominoes of the world with hits like Ain't That A Shame, I Almost Lost My Mind, Tutti Fruitti and many more.  But, perhaps because some of his hits were versions of songs Fats and Little Richard also had as hits, or perhaps because of the white shoes or traditional hair cut, Pat has been ignored by the Cleveland based Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.  Pat presented his case to long time radio programming guru John Rook and John took up the fight for Pat to be recognized.  This, however opened up a whole group of artists the Rock Hall of Fame has ignored, so then John and many other supporters decided to establish the Hit Parade Hall of Fame.  Support continues to grow by the day...we had the pleasure of seeing John at the Radio Luncheon in Las Vegas and meeting his son Jason who is working very hard to get the new Hit Parade Hall of Fame launched...first event is scheduled for this November.  Here's a short video interview with did with Jason to explain the whole concept...
