The one event you don't want to miss at the NAB convention is the Radio Luncheon and particularly the Crystal Radio Awards...these awards are given for community service by radio stations to their communities..When you hear these stations stories it makes you proud to be part of this great radio industry. In order to get this on line quickly I used my Motorola Q and Comvu and videotaped the presentations...the video is low quality because of the cell phone, but the audio is good...so here's a 15 minute clip for you.....

LAS VEGAS -- The National Association of Broadcasters has named 10 winners of the NAB Crystal Radio Awards. Since 1987, the NAB Crystal Radio Awards have recognized radio stations for their outstanding year-round commitment to community service. The 2008 NAB Crystal Radio Award recipients are:
Award winners were selected fro m among 50 finalists and recognized at today's NAB Show Radio Luncheon, which featured a keynote address by Robert Pittman, MTV co-founder and former Co-COO of AOL Time Warner. During the luncheon, Larry Lujack, legendary Chicago radio personality, was inducted into the NAB Broadcasting Hall of Fame and WUSL-FM Philadelphia was given the NAB Crystal Heritage Award for long-term commitment to community service. The luncheon was sponsored by ASCAP.
